Thank you to everyone who came out for Independent Bookstore Day! From making slime, tiocake, to author readings, to poetry, & happy hour the day was filled with fun & love for literatute. We had so much fun partnering with Café con Libros Press & Chukaruka that we decided to make this a more semi-permanent situation. This means that starting in June you will be able to purchase physical books from us at Café con Libros Press in Pomona! So make sure to come by to get your read on & say hi in person!

Book Club

I am excited to announce that I will be hosting Subverting Expectations’ first book club in June! We will be reading the Wake Up by Michelle MiJung Kim. I have been excited about this book ever since I heard her discussion about it at a bookseller’s conference in February. The book will be available for purchase in store, though you can also buy the book online. We will be meeting Thursday, June 29, at 6pm. The location is still to be determined, but will mostly be at Café con Libros Press.

We have had 5 books donated to the book club. If you need a free of cost book please let me know.
